Dr. Faraz Khan MD
Is the founder and Director of the company. He came to Ireland in 2015 to work and train in Psychiatry and registered with the Medical Council, started the journey. In 2017 he noted a big flaw in the system. He was amazed to see that a leading Irish hospital's community mental health team had 115 GP referral with 8 months of wait time. This was shocking. He took the initiative to fix the problem. Using his innovative mind and unique skill set, he created the Tele Triage in Psychiatry Protocol to reduce waiting lists and improve service time. He brought it down to 4 months. This protocol was an innovative creation. He published this as a poster. He presented the poster at the American Psychiatric Association's Annual Conference in San Francisco 2019. With this he put Ireland on the international map. Since then he has committed himself to serve the people of this country.
He was born in Pakistan and moved to Canada with his parents at the age of 4. Both of his parents were doctors. He has been involved in mental health since the age of 6. He always had a special place in his heart for people who went through suffering. He completed his education with a degree in Sociology from University of Toronto. He specialized in Culture and Cognition, Immigration and Employment. This gave him the foundation for mental health.
He then worked for the Federal Government of Canada. He was trained to speak, dress, walk, listen, act and think, how the Government of Canada requires their officials to. This gave him training in professionalism of high grade and confidence to speak in official settings and make significant decisions.
He then decided to move to Romania and study Medicine. He obtained a degree as a Medical Doctor. He worked in Forensic and Medico-legal Services in Romania for 3 years. This gave him a chance to work in the morgue with victims of all types of events which took their life. Predominantly suicide. Dr. Faraz always wanted to help support people with mental health difficulties. This work experience made Dr. Faraz, take the leap into the final aimed goal of learning Psychiatry. While in Romania he ran a successful Admissions Agency for North American Medical Students. He secured students from as far as Japan in collaboration with other Agencies.
He then decided to move to Ireland in 2015. He came with his extensive experience in Government, Politics, Health Care, Mental Health, Forensic Medicine, Sociology and Exceptional People Interactive Skills. He worked for HSE for 10 years in Mental Health Services. He was established in Dublin for 3 years, then moved to Galway in 2018. He gained knowledge and understanding framework, logistics with system operations of HSE. He gained experience in Crisis Mental Health Acute Emergency Department, Community Mental Health Teams and Inpatient Mental Health Units. He completed 5 years of Basic Specialist Psychiatry Training Clinical Outcome Grid as a Trainee. Then he decided to exit Higher Specialist Training in order to take a unique path which was individual to him to support his larger vision of helping the masses. He wanted to be available. He is a well liked, known, admired mental health practitioner in Galway and surrounding areas. Familiar to all the GPs in the County of Galway. He focused on the problems. He believes that opportunities are buried where complaints are made. He brings a skill set which is unmatched. He leads the company with a vision that will support minds of people and elevate their well being.
